Habitat: Brushy grasslands, prairies, and forest-grassland areas in the Mixed-grass Plains, Post Oak-Blackjack Uplands, Tall-grass Rolling Plains, Oak-Hickory Ozark Plateau, Oak-Hickory-Pine Ouachita Highlands, and Cypress-Oak Floodplains.
Habits: The Fulvous Harvest Mouse lives in a baseball-sized nest of grass, and plugs the entrance when it is inside. They are exclusively nocturnal. They eat seeds, greens, and insects. Fulvous Harvest Mice only live about 2 or 3 months, 1 year being old age. Females have two litters per year with two to four young in each litter. These mice may form monogamous pair bonds.
