Habits: Puma are carnivores that eat mostly deer. They usually are solitary; they have three cubs per litter, and the young stay with the mother for nearly two years. Mountain Lions are known for a scream call, and are mostly nocturnal. Puma are also known as Mountain Lions and Cougars. Once found throughout most of the state, the species now is rare. They are known from the Wichita Mountains and the Black Mesa. |
