Habits: The Prairie Vole makes extensive runway systems and underground burrow systems. Inside are fresh cuttings of grass, droppings, nests, and caches of food. The diet consists primarily of grass. They are active in the daytime and at night. Populations of Prairie Voles may cycle every 2 years so that some years few individuals per acre are found and in other years hundreds are found. |
