Habits: Woodchucks are diurnal and feed on grasses and forbs. They burrow underground, and den alone. Burrows or dens may be found beneath rocks, in crevices, or in caves. Woodchucks hibernate 4 to 6 months a year. Mating occurs in the spring. They have two to nine young in a litter, and may live 6 years or more. |
